Details of Teleconferencing

The use of electronic channels to facilitate communication among groups of people at two or more locations. Teleconferencing is the generic term that refers to a variety of technologies and applications. Technologies include, but not limited to, POTS (plain old telephone service), ISDN (integrated switched digital network), satellite, Internet LAN/WAN, T1 and DS-3. Applications include, but not limited to, tele-meetings, telecollaboration, telecommuting, distance education and teletraining. Definition is from International Teleconferencing Association (ITCA).
